Meet Cherie

Cherie Strudwick
Artist. Minister. Creator of Art By Cherie.

I’m Cherie Strudwick—artist, ordained minister, and lifelong seeker of the
sacred. For over five decades, I’ve walked beside others through seasons of
faith, grief, growth, and grace. Art By Cherie is where my call to ministry and
my love of creative expression gently meet.

My journey didn’t begin in a studio, but in a childhood dream. At just seven
years old, living in a homeless refuge with my family, I had a vivid vision of
myself as an elderly woman, surrounded by the wounded and the weeping. As
I reached out to touch them, they were healed. That dream became a guiding
light—a divine seed that shaped my life’s purpose.

After school, I studied Dress Design at the National Art School in Darlinghurst,
NSW Australia, and went on to work in the fashion industry with labels like
Gasoline Alley and Sportsgirl. I later created my own modular furniture line,
Linea, and ran a successful interior design business. Creativity has always
been my language—it flows through everything I do.

At the heart of it all is ministry. I’ve served as an ordained minister in the
Uniting Church in Australia, both locally and overseas, offering spiritual care,
leadership, and deep companionship. My faith is rooted in Jesus’ teaching,
shaped by mystical experience, and nourished by the quiet presence of God
in the ordinary.

Art By Cherie emerged as a sacred expression of this lifelong journey—a
space where art becomes prayer, where colour and silence hold hands, and
where beauty invites healing. Through original art prints, meditative
reflections, devotional music, and prayerful resources, I offer not just
beauty—but soul sanctuary.

Each creation is born from a place of listening, intuition, and love.
My hope is that as you encounter this work, you’ll sense not only its beauty,
but the blessing it carries—for you.
